Investors – The Board & Executive


The management team also form the Board of MediKane. Post funding, the Board will be reconfigured. Other independent Board members will be engaged with relevant backgrounds including legal, audit/tax/accounting and specific industry experience (e.g. ex CEO of a functional food, pharmaceutical or supplement company).

Rod Lewis – Director & CEO

After graduating with Science degrees that originated his interest in diabetes, Rod’s career began in product development, and then progressed to corporate executive roles in various global businesses including Cadbury Schweppes, The Foster’s Group and BOC Linde. The skills he developed are leadership, selection of managers, coaching high achievers, team development, sales, strategy development, performance management, selective use of innovations, cost management, improving operating efficiencies, retail distribution networks and supply chain management. Rod is focused on the team and growth.

Michael Goldman – CEO MediKane USA

Originally from the USA, Michael graduated from Sydney University Law School, then worked in Sports & Event Management with global companies, the International Management Group (IMG) and SFX Sports Group working alongside identities including Greg Norman, Pat Rafter and Michael Doohan. He was Vice CEO for Diabetes Australia when he began his association with MediKane. His experience and connections within the global network are exceptional.

Michael Stovin-Bradford – Director & Marketing Director

Michael has a very strong CV in marketing with excellent multinational experience - PepsiCo, Simplot and Unilever. He brings insights gained from running his own successful consultancy for 24 years. Time spent at both ends of the marketing spectrum has taught Michael the value of having a structured marketing process and how it delivers sales.  Understanding the right communication channels is necessary for maximising the ROA of the marketing spend.

Peter W Baker – Director & Executive Vice President Commercial

Peter has a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago.  He has over 30 years’ experience as a senior executive in a broad range of challenging situations including Director and Chairman experience. Peter has a ‘nose’ for good or risky business relationships and has made significant contributions to MediKane’s contractual relationships and Corporate Governance.

David Slatyer – Director & CFO

Dave has over 30 years’ experience at senior levels in accounting, financial management and corporate administration across a range of industries including FMCG, wholesale distribution, manufacturing and financial services.  Dave has held senior management roles with companies such as Kimberly-Clark Australia, The Greater Union Organisation, Challenger Financial Services Group and Stuart Alexander & Co.

Dr Malcolm Ball  Director & CTO

Malcolm completed his PhD at Macquarie University in 2002 and has now been appointed a Fellow of University.  Prior to co-founding MediKane, Malcolm worked as lead researcher and team leader for many technical organisations, including the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Eye Research and Technology. Malcolm’s focus is on ensuring the product claims are fully supported by science and both internal and independent technical assessments and trials.

Timothy Whitfield – Head of Technology

Tim has over 20 years experience as a CTO. Recently he concluded 5 years as Head of Technology for GroupM which is Australia's largest media planning and buying agency. Tim is a 5 x Linkedin award winner for the most influential digital persona. He is also a key guest lecturer at Sydney University for Digital Marketing. Tim is an acknowledged expert in both strategic and ‘hands-on’ digital marketing.
